We’re trying to get all settled in our new home. It’s going to be a slow process because we’re starting over with furniture, decorations, etc… And Mike works 24/7 so I’m flying solo unpacking us, but here are a few shots of our home so far.
-Built in the 1940s
-It has a chimney that shoots up through the attic, but we have no fire place! Someone took it out at some point…
-It used to belong to the Lutheran church and the pastor lived here way back in the day
– There’s no real master bedroom because houses used to not have them
-We have the original windows which I LOVE LOVE LOVE! They even have window cranks to open them
-I found old school music programs up in the attic this week. I think I’m going to frame them
– Our mailbox is attached to our house. If you live anywhere but Arizona, you will think I’m weird for being so excited about this. But down here, people usually have community mailboxes.
-Super cozy with wood floors
**A lot of you ask me where I get our furniture. I go to different vintage shops around Phoenix to find one of a kind old pieces. I bought the striped black and cream dresser for $32, and that old solid oak wood bed with a giant headboard AND unused full sized mattress for $250 at an estate sale. If I would have bought it new at a furniture store, I would have paid well over $1,000 (and it would not be made as well!) Estate sales are jackpot places to finding good, old furniture. The only two items of furniture that we’ve bought new so far is our table from World Market, and our couches! More pictures to come. Have a great weekend!
